Rules
REBEL Pro Wrestling
REBEL is an independent promotion based out of Raleigh, North Carolina. While small in nature, our stars are some of the biggest on the indie scene! We're also able to showcase top name talent from our sister fed NAPW that's based up in Alberta, Canada. REBEL has no disqualifications, no count outs and no bullshit. There are no politics here, no faces nor heels, REBEL is about two things. Violence and competition. Every match will have a clear winner and loser. Championships will be defended against top contenders on a regular basis. Basically, if you want a good fight then be part of REBEL. We currently hold shows at The Raleigh County Armory Civic Center, aka The REBEL Arena and we also tour the Mid Atlantic area. While we have no TV deal, all of our shows are taped in order to be later sold over the Internet or through our website on DVD format. Our big shows are also broadcast via Closed Circuit TV, through out the Carolina's, in Strip Clubs and Bars. We also broadcast inside the REBEL Arena, when away from Raleigh. Welcome to REBEL...
REBEL Shows:
REBEL holds two cards a month on the first and third Tuesdays of each month. Our sister fed NAPW runs on the opposite Tuesdays.
Roleplay period begins when the match threads are posted the day following a show to give plenty of time for a handler to promo. It is not my fault that if you cannot get up at least one promo in a two week period. I know there is life, so send me a private messege and let me know what is going on. Champions who no show, will lose their title unless a reason for the no show is given before hand. Champions who are booked in a non-title match are still expected to roleplay, if they do not and do not give a reason for why they no showed before hand, the line "card subject to change" will be enforced.
Roleplay period ends: 12 am(Midnight EST) Eastern, 11 pm Central, 10 pm Mountain, and 9 pm Pacific- Sunday Night prior to show unless otherwise noted. Check schedule link for official RP deadlines.
Results posted between 7-11 pm EST on scheduled day of show.
REBEL RULES
There are no disqualifications or count-outs in REBEL Pro Wrestling! Chairs, tables, ladders and more are all legal to use in matches! All matches end by pinfall or submission; matches must end IN THE RING unless otherwise specified. The referee can call a match if a wrestler is no longer responding, and can throw a match out under extreme circumstances - a rare occurrence.
Tag Team matches in REBEL do not require tags, functioning effectively under Tornado Tag rules. All team members are legal.
REBEL does utilize rope breaks. While a referee cannot disqualify a wrestler who refuses to break a hold in the ropes, he will not register a submission or pinfall in the ropes.
Roleplay Guidelines:
Roleplay Limit
Singles matches: Three (3) Roleplays (RPs) per wrestler per match. This applies to one-on-one, triple threat, four corner survival, gauntlet, etc.
Tag team Matches: Three (3) RPs for standard tag match, six (6) for six-man tag, eight (8) for Eight man tags, etc. Team members may utilize their total RPs in any combination they choose so long as they do not go over the total team RP limit.
Battle Royales: Three (3) RPs per battle royale participant.
Non-Match RPs: You are free to write as many post-show or storyline RPs as you wish outside of an RP period.
Roleplay Weighting
Deadline Bombing: Each singles wrestler or team is allowed only one (1) RP within the last twenty-four(24) hours of the RP period. The first roleplay posted in that period will count. It doesn't matter how good the second one is. I usually try and post a thread stating about the Deadline Bombing rule, but I do forget or am not home, so now you know. In the past the rule was only one(1) RP within the last six hours, but due to some handlers taking advantage of this relaxness, only one(1) RP will be accepted within the last twenty-four(24) hours. I don't care if you RP more than one during the final twenty-four(24) hour period, but I warn you that I will only count the first one.
Procrastination Penalty: If a wrestler waits until the final day of the period to post a first RP, not only is it the only one he is allowed to post, but that RP will be weighted at half-value. Subsequent RPs will not be counted at full-value. This rule only applies if no other RPs have been posted by a wrestler prior to the final day of period. Same applies to tag teams, but only as a total team. If your team has rped before the last 24 hours, you'er fine. If not, the first rp posted by either member is half value. Again I try and make an announcement, but I don't always get around to it.
The No Show Laws
Thou shall not no show your first match in REBEL. You will get fired.
If you no show, and you give zero warning, or don't contact someone in REBEL to tell Bean, than you will not be Booked until you contact Bean. If you go two additional shows without contacting Bean, you will be fired.
If you no show two Bookings in a row, you will be fired. This is because if you no show once and need time off, all you have to do is contact Bean.
A single no show will result in a one show suspension even if you have warned Bean. If you warn with enough time ahead, Bean always gets you a replacement, and then there is no suspension.
You can only no show THREE TIMES in SIX months, or you will be fired. The six months starts, as soon as you first no show.
If you are a champion and you do not RP for ANY match (even a non-title one), you will lose your title.
Miscellaneous Roleplay Info
Even though REBEL has relaxed rules, there are a handful of things you cannot do in your roleplays. Those being....
You cannot use other peoples characters without their permission! No killing, rape or implied rape. No homophobic slurs or racist remarks. Other than that, go wild!
As far as editing promos in REBEL, you CANNOT edit a promo that has been replied to by an opponent, or replied to by yourself/tag partner. Once another promo is posted, the RP is set in stone. This means content, colors, font, etc cannot be edited for any reason.
Submitting Promos, Match Strategies, Etc.
Private Message or e-mail a "show strat" to the booking team member handling the current show. "Show strats" include, but are not limited to, the following:
-In-ring promo/interview
-Request to attack other wrestler
-Specific match strategies
-Request to specifically lose a match (to further storyline)
-Unexpected match stipulation
-Any other idea for an on-show occurrence
Typically no more than 2-3 in-ring promos interviews will occur on one show - REBEL is kind of "old school," we prefer to do most of our storytelling in the ring. There is no "big screen" to show backstage segments after all. We can incorporate "DVD Extras" if need be. Note that your ideas may conflict with ideas from other handlers; therefore the head booker will edit strats at his discretion to best fit with the show in question and overall storylines. All show strats are subject to final approval from the head booker.
Ranking & Championships:
There is a top ten for non champions in singles, and a top five for the tag teams. The rankings are based on a combination of two things: Matches held for number one contendership, and based on roleplay quality the previous week. What you did in the past has no bearing on the rankings, it's a what-have-you-done-for-me-lately business.
Championships:
World Heavyweight: Defended at least once a month.
World Tag Team: Defended at least once a month.
Carolinas: Defended at least once a month. Can only be defended in the Carolinas or in a directly bordering state.
#1 Contender's Cup-defended weekly, can be cashed in at any moment for a title shot of your choice, but you must wait until next show to receive the title match. Can be either cashed in for the match or defended like a championship.
*Note, the title match rules aren't set in stone, just a basic guideline.
*A wrestler cannot be a double Rebel Pro Champion; meaning if a wrestler in Rebel Pro holds one Rebel Pro Championship, he cannot hold another Rebel Pro Championship.
Rematches
Title rematches will be granted automatic if the former champ successfully defended his title at least one time.
Miscellaneous Stuff:
* If you are going to be out of town or unable to RP for your match, simply PM the booking team before the RP period begins, or before a promo has been posted and we will take you off the card and replace you with someone else.
* If you want to have a special "gimmick" match, PM the booking team and we'll see what we can do. Not all matches in REBEL can be "Blood & Guts" but we'll work with you best we can.
* Always feel free to submit ideas for your character to the booking team. We might not always use them but your input is valuable!
* Your character can hold a singles title and a tag title at the same time. You cannot however hold both singles belts at once.
* REBEL and NAPW have a working relationship. Many of the wrestlers in REBEL also compete in NAPW - some became names there. Occasionally the other fed's titles may be defended on the other's shows. REBEL and NAPW are two separate feds, but what happens in one can affect the other.
Match Writing
While match writing is thanked, it will have no bearing on whether you win or lose a match.
Please do not say, "I can't write matches" for a reason you do not write them. I am blind and have to write matches, if you don't know what a move is... there are wonderful things out on the internet called "Search Engines". They do tend to help out if you don't know what a move is. I'll even be a nice guy and give you a particular search term to use.
Type in: "(wrestling move name) wrestling description wiki"
Believe it or not, it does pull up links to wiki that you can click on and it will describe a move to you and some have pictures.-oh my!
One Final Reminder
In case you didn't catch on, a champion must roleplay, at least once, to have a chance of keeping their belts. This particular rule goes for non-title matches, title matches, and all other types of matches.
If you do not pm The Bean for a no show reason, ye shall be squashed!
Match writing, help out or it shall be recappified!
