BIO:

Born and raised on the Hopi Reservation in Kykotsmovi, Arizona, Robert Anthony Pavati grew up with a deep understanding and respect for his heritage while still understanding the world around him. Like any

young American male he went to school, watched movies, played video games, dated, participated in sports, and frequented fast food restaurants. However, he also dedicated much of his life to knowing his People and their history and traditions. Because knowledge of oneself and those around you is the fundamental key to survival.

In 2005 he graduated from his modest high school, Hopi High, lettering in wrestling, and moved on to the minimum wage world of fast food. University life was expensive and so his pursuit of higher education came to a pause as he worked towards stock piling a nest egg that would at least allow him to get his foot in the door coupled with a few grants and scholarships.

In 2007 he and several of his friends made the long trip to Phoenix, Arizona to attend the January 12th edition of the Liberty Wrestling Federation’s Friday Night Fiction. The night would have been memorable enough with just the event itself, but afterwards on their way out Pavati and his friends found themselves in a line stretching a great deal around the stadium.

LWF’s Lead Recruiter and Head of talent Development was holding open tryouts. A publicity stunt to garnish further interest in his employers business. Hours later, exhausted, bruised, and battered Pavati found himself in possession of a “contract” that guaranteed him a flat monetary fee for every match he participated in (a slight increase to that fee should he win), but no guarantee in terms to the length of his “contract”.

Pavati, participated in all of one sanctioned LWF match before the company closed up shop and left him without any means to an income. Feeling defeated, his one shot having come and gone, Pavati returned to his People’s Reservation where he enrolled in community college courses (using the money he’d earned in his one LWF match) and returned to the fast food industry.

In 2009, Pavati graduated with an associates degree in business and moved into a management position at a local retail store. The money was better than he was use to and he soon became complacent. His drive for higher education stymied by his increased pay check. New car, new clothes, new entertainment center and a new girlfriend. Could life get any better?

In 2011 opportunity knocked one more time. Victory Wrestling needed some bodies. They needed some guys to feed to their talent and the AOWF gladly supplied VW with a list of potential names that could fill that need. Lisa Seldon, being who she is, jumped at the chance to have a bonafide former LWF wrestler on her roster.

She did of course offer him WAY too much money, and doesn’t really recall ever seeing him in the LWF, but nevertheless Pavati decided to accept her offer. What could it hurt to make a little pay day and get back in the ring for a bit?

BIO: If you find yourself questioning why Emily Corlen’s last name sounds so familiar, that would be because she happens to be the sister of Jen Corlen, the wife of PWA star and multi-time World Champion David Blazenwing.

After Blazenwing’s short 2009 run in PWA ended, David decided to temporarily step away from the business, and after his appointed successor, Starla Gardevoir, fell injured after only one match in PWA, he went back to the drawing board.

Some two hours away from his home, from Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Rockford, Illinois, Emily Corlen found herself down and out – Jen’s younger sister, fresh out of college with nowhere to go and a (mostly) useless degree in Writing – as popular Broadway show Avenue Q once famously asked, “What do you do with a BA in English?”

Emily, while never the most athletic or powerful, was still somewhat imposing for her frame – she certainly wasn’t a fragile little flower. After following the careers of her brother in law and her sister, she finally contacted them and showed interest in possibly being trained.

David took up the cause, interested in Emily’s potential, and almost half a year later, was finally ready to unleash her upon the PWA. Christening her the “Emerald Phoenix” (not to be confused with PWA’s other Phoenix, Rob Robinson!), Emily Corlen arrived in PWA and immediately… did nothing of note.

A month went by with more losses than wins, and after realizing that something needed to change or she would be out of a job, Emily went to her sister and using her connections, brought Katie James (the former Starla Gardevoir) and her sister Sarah James (Kirlia Gardevoir) into PWA.

Calling themselves Bound by Blood on account of the fact that they were two sets of sisters (and they were setting out to make people bleed) suddenly, Emily was on fire! She attacked PWA Grizzly Beer Champion Marco Dante at Summer Sizzler 2010, then defeated him twice on consecutive Chaos – once in a three-way also featuring Xan Vaxman and again in a six-person tag match pitting her, Sarah and Katie against Marco and the Danger Boiz.

She was finally granted what she felt she deserved – a shot at Marco’s title, and one month after Bound by Blood’s formation at Summer Sizzler, Emily defeated Marco two falls to one in a Best of Three Falls match at Manitoba Mayhem to claim her first pro wrestling championship, PWA’s Grizzly Beer Title!

Emily held onto the title for over a month, defending it several times before finally losing it in a brutal Triple Threat Street Fight thanks to ill-timed interference from her sister: interference that Emily would later learn was intentional, as on the next edition of Chaos, Bound by Blood turned on Emily, burying her alive and joining Simon Kalis’ Order of Chaos.

Emily wasn’t seen from again until her former stablemates Katie and Sarah James lost the PWA Tag Team Titles that they earned at Lucha Libre 2010 to another set of brothers, Johnny and Ollie Maverick. Sarah was injured in the match and a week later, when Katie announced she had a new partner, Emily appeared and helped the sisters lay out Ollie.

Oddly enough, after this, all three women vanished from the airwaves. For nearly a month, Emily was not seen on PWA television, until an irate internet blog post from her in late January 2011 revealed her whereabouts; she, along with Katie, had been being denied access to PWA arenas across the globe!

A week after making the blog post, the girls returned to PWA television (with the aid of David Blazenwing) and set out to confront the woman who had been supposedly barring them from Chaos, Lisa Seldon. What happened next, however, nobody saw coming, as two masked assailants charged the ring and laid Emily out, then took off their masks to reveal themselves as Jen and Sarah!

Jen then went on to tell Emily that she was behind Emily being barred from PWA arenas, and Sarah was never injured, and the whole scenario was created to draw Emily back into PWA so Jen could finish her off once and for all! Katie stuck with Emily rather than siding with her sister and Jen, however, and at PWA’s Genesis XI, the two teams battled in a Loser Leaves PWA Tag Team Match. Emily and Katie won, with Katie getting the pinfall, and after the match ended, Jen revealed that the contract the girls signed only allowed whoever captured the pinfall to keep their job, meaning that Emily was fired from PWA as well!

Emily headed to REBEL Pro Wrestling next, capturing the Aggression Title for a brief period before regaining her job in PWA. Emily also joined the BWF, where she fought and defeated Gabe Shelley at WrestleFest VI to capture her first World Title, the BWF World Championship – if only for a few minutes, as Shelley won the title back in an immediate rematch minutes later. One week later, after Shelley was forced to relinquish the title due to injury, Emily claimed the vacant title as her own, saying that the BWF “deserved a World Champion who would defend the title as passionately as Gabe did”. Shelley, revealing himself later in the show as the new BWF Owner, agreed with Emily’s sentiments, officially recognizing her as the new World Champion.

On July 14, 2011, Emily married fellow AoWF wrestler Johnny Maverick in a private friends and family ceremony held at their Los Angeles estate. While Emily took Johnny’s real last name, Fitzsimmons, as her own, she decided to remain known as Emily Corlen in the wrestling ring after briefly trying out the ring name Emily Maverick.

After losing the BWF World Championship (without being pinned or submitted for it – the pitfalls of a Fatal 4 Way) to Finale at BWF Tainted Twilight, Emily went on a tear. As BWF transitioned to TGW, Emily proved she deserved a rematch for the World Title. Before she could get it, however, Finale vacated the Championship and left the company. A battle royal was held two weeks before the scheduled title match to determine who would face Emily for the vacant title at Retribution, which was won by Masakazu, the son of Simon Kalis. At Retribution, Emily and Masakazu took one another to the limit, but in the end, with a well-timed Down in Flames, Emily defeated Masa and claimed her third World Championship, becoming the first TGW World Champion of the company’s AoWF stint.

Emily would go on to hold the belt for the remainder of 2011, drawing a double count out in her first defense of the Championship in her first defense against AJ Adams before defeating him via submission to retain the title at the AoWF interfed event RPM III: Full Throttle in mid January 2012. A week later, Emily made a surprise return to REBEL Pro Wrestling, where she entered a battle royal against eight other competitors to determine new Tag Team Champions, with the sole survivor also receiving a singles shot of their choice in the company. Emily made it to the final two alongside Justin Case, crowning the duo the new REBEL Tag Champs, and then Emily eliminated Case to win the contest and lock down an additional singles shot of her choosing in the future.

BIO: Johan Dietrich wasn’t ever good at much. He was smart but not a genius. He was funny but not hilarious. He was a decent musician, but not fantastic. The one thing Johan did well and actually enjoyed doing? Fighting.

Dietrich made his way into small regional promotions throughout Europe where he developed the “Kvlt Drachen” persona as a means of tapping into his inner brutality and then, via a mysterious benefactor who said he “believed in Kvlt,” came to America to join REBEL Pro Wrestling.

APPEARANCE: HEAD: A white mask with smudges of gray around black accents, simultaneously paying homage to the corpse paint used by his viking ancestors (and black metal musicians worldwide) and the myth of dragons as an evil force of nature that was popular throughout ancient Europe. The nose down to a chinstrap is left open, revealing Dietrich’s beard and painted face (for the portions that the mask does not cover).

BIO: Pre-REBEL: Michael Mertens was a bottom-of-the-card, mullet-sporting jobber for most of his career. In the early 2000s, he began wrestling for more extreme promotions, earning a decent indy following and the nickname Mikey Massacre, which he seen proudly adopted.

REBEL & NAPW: Mikey Massacre was sought by REBEL Pro for obvious reasons. He joined the fed, became an instant fan favorite and accumulated titles, earning the first real success of his

career. He later began questioning the industry he had dedicated his life to, resulting in a dissociative disorder. Eventually, one ‘part’ of his personality won out; he turned on his tag team partner, Nick Everhardt, and became a huge heel, changing his name to Michael Massacre. He denigrated REBEL Pro and the sport of pro wrestling, cumulating in a win at NAPW’s 2009 King of Old School tournament, which he used as a soapbox, preaching his beliefs. He was later turned on by his own disciples at a REBEL Pro event and fled the company.

NAPW: He disappeared for awhile, then returned in NAPW. There are some reports that he was

institutionalized; others claim he wrestled in underground events in Japan. All that is known is that when he came to NAPW, the entity formerly known as Mikey(Michael) Massacre went by TWO names, as if he was actually TWO different people: Michael and Massacre. Before agreeing to join NAPW, he had two contracts sent to him, one for each ‘identity.’ Massacre was the wrestler and Michael was ‘his’ manager. It is believed that a series of beatings from Donovan Astros, Jacob Venar and Jake Phoenix cured him of his split personalities.

REBEL: Mikey Massacre was honored with a spot in the REBEL Icons. During his acceptance speech, he became overwhelmed with emotion for what he had previously done in REBEL. He apologized, and was soon thereafter brought back as REBEL’s play-by-play man. He did so for about a year, until one day he snapped, attacking Lisa Seldon, fed up with the direction he perceived REBEL to have taken.

After he hits it, he usually holds his ribs for a brief moment before hooking the leg for the 3 count.

ENTRANCE: The lights go out as an image of a copperhead slithering down a dirt road airs on the REBEL-Tron as the bagpipe intro from “Copperhead Road” by Steve Earle begins to play with the snake slithering down the path. The snake then coils up in position to strike as the bagpipe intro ends and “Simple Man” by Lynyrd Skynyrd begins to play over the P.A. system as red, white, and blue lighting goes off throughout the arena. Just then, a spot-light shines on J.T. Whiplash in his wrestling attire, holding a Rebel flag as the fans erupt in cheers. J.T. then waves the Rebel flag in the air hollering as he does so. He then puts the flag over his shoulder as he makes his way to the ring slowly, tagging hands with as many fans as he can get to as he gets to the end of the ramp-way, pausing as he waves his Rebel flag around again before walking to the ring steps and sticking his Rebel flag in the ring post as he steps over the middle rope and climbs in

the ring, shouting and hollering for the fans to cheer as he climbs up each second turn-buckle and lets out a loud “YEEEEEEE-HAAAAAAWWW!!!” as he gives the crowd a bull-horn sign before he paces back and forth in the ring like a pissed-off hyena as he runs against the ropes a couple of times before going back to pacing as the music dies down.

BIO: Born James Tyrell on March 5th, 1960, the man who would later be known in the professional wrestling world as J.T. Whiplash was a star tight end and linebacker at Midway High School, earning a full-ride scholarship to the University of Tennessee as a tight end in 1978. J.T. played two years at the University of Tennessee before getting kicked off the team for being drunk in a bar and starting a major brawl at a night-club. J.T. then took a job as a bouncer at a local strip club in Knoxville where he met Professor Boris Malenko, who was training wrestlers in the Knoxville area at that time. J.T. spent the next year training, setting up the ring, selling concessions and gimmicks, and paying his dues before he started his wrestling career in the Knoxville territory for the next year as an underneath guy working as the son of Knoxville area legend Jack Whiplash. A year later, he was sent to the Kansas City territory for six-month stint followed by six-month runs in Florida, Texas, and Portland. In 1984, J.T. got his first serious run in Bill Watts’ Mid-South territory, spending two years there where he won the Television Title and worked several hour-long draw matches with NWA World Heavyweight Champion Ric Flair until he got fired for being too drunk to wrestle one night in Houma, Louisiana against Ted DiBiase. In 1986, he went to Jim Crockett Promotions for the next two years, winning their Television title on two different occasions as one of the company’s most popular draws thanks to his ability to talk fans into the seats and sell better beatings than anyone in the business, In 1988, J.T. was fired from Mid-Atlantic Wrestling for being passed out in the locker room before

the show one time too many. He was given a shot in World Class for the rest of 1988 and managed to pull himself together professionally long enough for a run as World Class World Heavyweight Champion. He then spent much of 1989 working in Memphis, feuding with Jerry “The King” Lawler before being hired by WCW in late 1989 as a mid-card enhancement talent. Again, J.T.’s personal demons got the better of him as in 1991, he showed up so pilled up he could barely stand at a house show in Knoxville, Tennessee. He then went to the USWA for the next two years, winning their heavyweight championship twice before going onto his most successful run in Smoky Mountain Wrestling from 1993-1995 as he won the TV Title twice and the Heavyweight Title twice as the company’s top draw along-side of the Rock ‘N Roll Express. Just before Smoky Mountain closed, J.T. signed a deal to work for the upstart ECW promotion where he was there until just after the company’s first PPV, winning the ECW Television Title briefly in 1996 as a heel. WCW then called him for a run in the summer of 1997 as enhancement-talent, but after only three weeks, Whiplash showed up in the infamous “no condition to perform” and was fired again from the company. Ever since then, J.T. has predominantly worked on small indy shows across the South in bars, flea markets, community centers, and high school gyms in the South where his name remains a huge draw to small promotions even with his personal problems. He even participated in a couple of IWA: Mid-South’s King Of The Death-Match tournaments and in one of CZW’s Cage Of Death shows back in 2005. During J.T.’s time away from the mainstream wrestling business, he sank deeper into his personal demons, abusing alcohol, marijuana, pills, and cocaine along with steroids periodically. His wife and kids have left him to his own vices as he tries to drown away his pain with drugs, alcohol, or women. But in recent years, J.T.’s career has had a bit of a late-career renaissance in REBEL Pro Wrestling, when his career hasn’t been side-tracked by drug and alcohol problems. In Whiplash’s first run, he won the Aggression Title and was fast becoming the company’s most beloved wrestler until he showed up at a show too drunk to wrestle. He went to rehab in 2010 and came back briefly, but another relapse sent him on the sidelines for an extended period of time. Finally, at 51 years old, knowing this just might be his last run at glory, the “Confederate Copperhead” and the “Pride of Paint Rock” is trying to put together his ravaged personal and professional life and give the loyal fans of REBEL Pro one final big run just to show that he still can.

From a middle class family, Black was a smart student who went to school to play football. Undrafted, and singed as a back up to the Bills, Black declined to pursue professional wrestling. He 150 pounds in fat, muscle, and beer (which, depending on who you ask, can be fat AND muscle), and wrestled in local indie feds. His family refused to support him, mad that he turned down professional football, until he signed with REBEL and became a sought-after Indie wrestler.
